ADM has added a big gun to its board—AT&T General Counsel David McAtee—as it seeks to win back investor support following an accounting scandal that came to light in January and continues to create headaches.

The Chicago-based commodities and food processing giant on Wednesday announced McAtee’s appointment to a vacant slot on its 12-person board. It is the first public company board role for McAtee, who has been with Dallas-based AT&T since 2012 and has been legal chief since 2015.
